  • Yes. You can book your initial counseling session here.

  • During a session, you can expect to do a check-in with me. This allows you to express what has been happening in your life since our last session. You will also have the opportunity to tell me if there are any specific issues that you want to address during the session.  We will also review any therapeutic homework you were assigned and process your experience with it. Various therapeutic techniques will be used based on what we are working on, and all guided by the treatment plan that we developed together during the first few initial sessions. Please know that this is your session, and you can use it the way you want to with my guidance.  The counseling hour is a collaborative process. You will feel safe and understood here.

  • Yes. You will receive a secure, unique telehealth link via email at the time your appointment is made and 24 hours prior to the session as a reminder. Please find a secure, confidential location where you will not be disturbed to have your session. Please connect your device (computer, tablet or smartphone) to a strong, secure WiFi to ensure your session is 100% confidential. You may use headphones during your session. The telehealth system that is used for your session is called Simple Practice and it is HIPAA compliant to ensure that the sessions are private.

  • Dr. Davis will review confidentiality and informed consent, what the process of therapy will consist of, discuss your primary and secondary concerns and begin to gather background information in order to get to know you better and to conceptualize your concerns. The assessment usually takes two to three 50 minute sessions. Next, a collaborative treatment plan with measurable goals will be developed and then active treatment will begin around session three or four using various counseling techniques and skills to meet your therapeutic goals.

  • All in-person and video sessions are 100% confidential. During the first session, Dr. Davis will review her privacy and confidentiality practices in writing and will obtain your permission and signature to proceed with the counselor-client relationship.

  • Dr. Davis specializes in working with adults and adolescents who are experiencing forms of depression (mood disorder, bipolar and seasonal affective disorder), anxiety (to include generalized anxiety, social anxiety,  and PTSD), relational trauma (family of origin and intimate partner violence), life transitions (military to civilian life, job loss, job stress and anxiety, grief, and loss), addictions (alcoholism, food, shopping), grief counseling, and codependency. 

    Treatment approaches: cognitive behavioral therapy, Internal family systems, motivational interviewing, and brain-based therapy to assist clients with anxiety disorder and depression.

  • Dr. Davis holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and a Master’s of Arts Degree in Mental health counseling and Marriage and Family Counseling. She holds a state license as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and is a licensed clinical counselor supervisor. She is a National Certified Counselor.
